This is a logbook kept by the people who sail the Ionian. Not a brochure, not a charter company’s blog — an open collection of what actually happened on other people’s weeks.
Why it exists
Everything written about chartering in Greece is written by people selling charters. The useful things — which bay holds in a northwesterly, which harbour is full by four o’clock, which taverna is worth the dinghy ride, what you would do differently — live in the heads of the crews who found out, and then get forgotten over the winter.
So: write it down, put your name on it, and the next crew sails a better week than you did.
Who can post
Anyone who has sailed here. It does not matter which fleet you chartered from, whether you were bareboat, skippered or on a flotilla, or whether it was your first week aboard or your fortieth. First-timers often write the most useful accounts, because they notice the things experienced crews have stopped seeing.
Honest accounts only
Badges are earned for contributing, whatever you have to say. A critical story earns exactly what a glowing one does, and we publish both. A site of nothing but praise would be advertising, and you would be right not to believe it.
Who pays for it
The hosting and the running of this site are paid for by Sailors Breeze, a yacht charter and management company based at Gouvia marina in Corfu. We think you should know that, which is why it is written in the footer of every page.
What it does not buy: a say in what gets published. Stories about other fleets are welcome and are not edited to suit us. We are not the tour operator Sailing Holidays Ltd, who are a separate and much older company, and we are not affiliated with them.
